FOX Sports Florida has announced that they will be broadcasting four Marlins Spring Training games this coming March. FSFlorida will also be doing a dual commentary with other FOX Sports teams, including Sun Sports and FOX Sports Midwest, meaning the two sides will work together on-screen when providing play-by-play and commentary.
This is currently the schedule set by FOX Sports Florida:
March 13 ———- 1PM (EST) ———- Washington Nationals at Florida Marlins
March 15 ———- 1PM (EST) ———- Florida Marlins at Tampa Bay Rays ———- with Sun Sports (Rays announcers) & FOX Sports Florida (Marlins announcers) — airs on both FOX Sports Florida and Sun Sports
March 20 ———- 1PM (EST) ———- New York Mets at Florida Marlins
March 26 ———- 1PM (EST) ———- St. Louis Cardinals at Florida Marlins ———- with FOX Sports Midwest (Cardinals announcers) & FOX Sports Florida (Marlins announcers) — airs on both FOX Sports Florida and FOX Sports Midwest
I have contacted several television providers. DirecTV and Comcast have responded, saying these broadcasts will only be for Florida residents who receive FOX Sports Florida; meaning the MLB Extra Innings package will not provide Spring Training games. But, if you’re out of state, I suggest you check your local FOX Sports channel to see if they will be broadcasting Spring Training games between a local team and the Fish.
Lucky for me, I’ll be able to watch the dual-commentary March 26th when the Marlins battle the Cardinals since it will be broadcasting on FOX Sports Midwest, which I get locally in Indiana. So keep checking local teams for updates on televised Spring Training games!
